Blackberry Z3: A mid ranger BB10

Blackberry Z3 is the
latest attempt by Blackberry to revive their fortunes after a disastrous fiscal
performance in recent times. The Z3 is like a younger brother to the 2013 Z10.
It is a phone built with the same design philosophy by Blackberry as always. It
is well built for a mid ranger and houses a qHD (540x960) of 5” diagonal which
is actually larger than the premium Z3. The display ppi is a decent 220ppi.
Internal Specifications and Operating
System
The internals are taken care of by
Blackberry with a Dual Core Snapdragon Krait 400 chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz and
has 1.5GB ram coupled with 8GB of storage expandable via microSD card to
32GB. The main selling point of the phone is the price and the battery, the
battery is 2500mah which is a big jump from the Z10 despite being cheaper.
The Z3 belongs to the latest Blackberry 10 OS family and comes with
Blackberry OS 10.2.1
CameraThe Z3 has a 5MP camera with autofocus
capable of 1080p video recording and a LED flash to assist in indoor and low
light shooting and a 1.1 MP camera with 720p recording capabilities.
Connectivity
The Z3 can be used anywhere in the world
with support for quad-band GSM and dual band 3G. It supports CDMA, HSDPA, LTE
as well. It has Wifi, Bluetooth v4.0.
Final Words
The Z3 is a great mid-range device targeted at the youth at a compelling price
point, the all-day battery life provided by the phone is great for anyone who
is always on the move. BBM is another selling point of Blackberry as well as
Blackberry Maps.
