Gionee M2: The Battery Beast
phone
Display and Build:
The Gionee M2 has an
agenda and it is only and only battery life, consumers might expect the
thickness to take a hit but Gionee has kept it at a reasonable 10.5mm for a
phone this size and has kept the weight reasonable. The build quality is
plasticky but feels rigid. The display unit is a 5” TFT capacitive display with
a 480p(854*480) resolution at an okay 196ppi.
Internal Specifications and Operating
System
Gionee has supplied the M2 with a quad
core cortex A-7 processor with a Mali 400 GPU and 1GB of ram to take on
tasks, the storage is a 4GB flash memory with a micro SD slot for
expandability. THE BIGGEST DRAW of the device is the humongous 4200mah
battery which powers the device for maximum stamina. The sensors included are
a accelerometer, proximity and compass.
The phone runs on Google’s dated Jellybean v4.2 Android OS with
Gionee’s custom UI.
Camera
The camera unit is a standard 8MP camera with autofocus and LED flash with
features like smile detection and panorama. It can record 720p video and the
front camera is a 2MP unit.
Connectivity
The M2 has quad band GSM, 3G/HSDPA and
LTE. It has Wifi, A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.0 and FM Radio.
Final Words
The Gionee M2 is the best phone on a budget if you want extraordinary battery
life and nothing else, the Gionee has been marketed as a phone that can run a
power marathon and it does what it does best very well.
