Gionnee had mad an impact with the release of the Gionee Dream D1 which was surprisingly clocked marginally higher . In addition to this it also sported a super AMOLED display. It is Equipped with a 3.5 inch TFT capacitive 320 x 480 pixels display the Gionee Pioneer P1 does just enough to keep it in contest. The 1GHz Media tek processor does well to power a phone of this price range. One of the huge drawbacks is that it runs an outdated Android OS 2.3.6 Gingerbread. It could have also done better in the camera sector, 1.3 MP is simply not enough. It also sports a 0.3 Mp secondary camera. Another area where this phone lacks is the internal memory being only 512 MB and a RAM of 256MB clearly does not impress.
