The Galaxy Grand 2 is
the second generation of the hugely popular Grand which was a large phone at
not so large a price. The Grand 2 develops on the same design as its
predecessor and it is a slightly larger display at 5.25” of HD resolution
(1280*720) translating to 280 ppi. The display is a normal TFT unit.
Internal Specifications and Operating
System
The phone uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon
400 quad core processor running at 1.2 GHz and it is coupled with 1.5GB RAM.
The phone has 8GB internal storage which is further expandable by means of a
microSD card up to 64GB. The phone is powered by a large 2600 mAh battery.
The phone has a accelerometer, barometer and compass in the sensors
department.
The phone released with Android Jellybean v4.3 but it has received an
update to 4.4 (Kitkat) which should make things smoother. The UI is
consistent with Samsung’s TouchWIZ UI.
Camera
The camera unit is a standard 8MP camera with autofocus and LED flash with
features like smile detection and geo-tagging. It can record Full HD video with
stereo sound recording and the front snapper is a 1.9MP unit capable of HD
video recording.
Connectivity
The Grand 2 has quad band GSM, 3G/HSDPA
and LTE. It has Wifi, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth v4.0, DLNA and FM Radio.
